Home/ About The School

In line with the National Education Policy 2020, the University’s Four Year Undergraduate Programme comes with the flexibility of multiple entry and exit options, various degree options and a host of courses that a student may choose from, including Ability Enhancement courses, Skill Enhancement courses, Value Addition courses, Internship projects, Research projects, Generic Electives and courses on Indian Knowledge Systems. The programme aims to offer multidisciplinary education with freedom to its students in order to enhance and channelize their analytical and creative energies. Students experience the flexibility of choosing courses from more than one disciplinary area in order to develop a broader perspective on social sciences and humanities. The teaching method in the University is interactive and learner centric. The pedagogy comprises lectures, tutorials, lab classes, field work, workshops and seminars.

With its robust Student Welfare Schemes and mechanisms in the form of full fee waiver to all students belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories, funds for emergency medical assistance, purchase of books and study material, merit-based scholarships, and travel grants, the University extends support to all those who may need it, exemplifying the values that it seeks to foster in its students. The EHSAAS clinic provides psychotherapy support to the University’s students as well as any individuals and families needing such support. The Hostel facility, available for girl students, is particularly helpful for outstation students. The newly constituted Training and Placement Cell strives to create and provide internship and employment opportunities to the students of the University. NCC, NSS and other societies for co-curricular activities (dance, music, drama etc.) aim to provide holistic educational opportunities to the students of the University.

The School of Undergraduate Studies follows a mandatory attendance policy of 75%. Students are expected to attend all learning situations. Assessment is continuous, with regular feedback. The aim of continuous assessment is to ensure that the work done during the semester carries more weight than a single end-semester examination. The medium of instruction is English. The university provides a range of support systems for English language education through its Centre for English Language Education. Mentoring is an important feature of all programmes in the University.
