About the Centre

Centre for Research Methods (CRM) is one of the early centres founded (2010-2011) at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) as a Centre for Social Sciences Research Methods with an intent to facilitate research oriented activities in line with the vision of the university.

Research methodology is a vast canvas that help engage with and generate awareness of intersectionality in constituent academic disciplines, their respective practices and underpinning theoretical systems. Meaning - nature and relevance of ‘research’ and ‘research methodology’ get problematized and understood differently across and within different academic fields ranging from social sciences, humanities to creative disciplines such as design and performing arts, and natural sciences. As a social sciences and humanities university, AUD is endowed with a range of schools, centres, programs and forums, which creates space and opportunity for competence and to reconcile with a broader understanding of research methodology; to reflect on challenges faced by academic disciplines and practice fields.

Vision Statement

CRM aspires to be a nucleus of practices in social science applying innovative research methods with an objective to fulfil the purpose of doing studies in social sciences. The vision is not to limit the scope of the study in social sciences to academia but to prepare a ground for a futuristic knowledge ecosystem, cutting across boundaries and build a robust foundation for research and outreach.
