Surajit Mazumdar did his Masters, M.Phil and Ph.D from the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Before joining as Professor at Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, JNU in April 2014, he had taught in Hindu College (1993-2007), Institute for Studies in Industrial Development, New Delhi (2007-11) and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Delhi (2011-14). His research interests lie in the areas of the Indian Corporate Sector and the Political Economy of Industrialization.
