Course Description:

In this course, student teachers compile the learnings, discuss with peers about their experiences, reflect on the experiences, refine the artifacts developed during the internship and prepare comprehensive internship report during post-internship in 8th semester.

Course Objectives:

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of the school ecosystem,
  • Describe their learning from internship with the peers and teacher educators,
  • Reflect on school internship sharing learning experiences on each activity undertaken

Course Outcomes:

After completion of the course, student teachers will be able to:

  • Demonstrate/Exhibit/Manifest comprehensive understanding of the school ecosystem.
  • Reflect on school internship experiences in a report.
  • Share their learning from school internship with the peers and teacher educators

Brief description of the modules:

Module 1: Reflective practice

This module will focus on experience sharing and reflective learning which are integral parts of professional growth for educators. Students will be able to present their work and reflect on the feedback received and consider how it can inform their pedagogy and enhance student learning opportunities. Sharing of the findings of the teaching related experiences with peers will also contribute to the collective knowledge base of responsive teaching practices.

Module 2: Interactions with parents and community

Interacting with parents and the community is an essential aspect of the student teaching experience, as it fosters collaboration, builds relationships, and enables them to understand the students in their classroom in a more holistic manner. By actively engaging with parents and the community, student teachers can build positive relationships, gain valuable insights into students' backgrounds and needs, and create a supportive learning environment that promotes student achievement and well-being. It is important to keep in mind that the interaction with parents need to be fostered as a two-way process.
