Specific requirements on the part of students who can be admitted to this course: (Pre-requisites; prior knowledge level; any others – please specify) All UG pass out students joining the MVoc Tourism & Hospitality Management programme with a basic degree specialised on Tourism & Hospitality. Students with UG degree and having work experience in the Tourism & Hospitality can also join in this course.

How does the course link with the vision of AUD?
The tourism and Hospitality industry is hugely contributing towards employment and it is a vital segment to create jobs amongst the poorest segments of the population and act as a gateway for formal sector employment. The course will provide understanding on the management concepts attached with food and beverage operations hence stimulating the entrepreneurial appetite in the learner. Therefore it will focus on the larger interest of different societal groups, including the marginalised sections, and identify their roles in contributing tourism and hospitality industries.
How does the course link with the specific programme(s) where it is being offered?
Being an elective course ofMVoc programme, it will provide in-depth background of Food and Beverage Management for students interested in finding entrepreneurial ground in tourism and hospitality ecosystem.
Course Details:
Summary: This course will focus on developing an interface so that students learn back of the house and front line management functions in food and beverage operations.
Objectives: The objectives of the course are:-
- To develop F and B skills as well as strengthen management competencies;
- Develop Entrepreneurial competencies in food and beverage sector.
Expectedlearning outcomes: After going through this course, the students will be able to:-
- Identify the objectives and need for F and B control
- Interpret the factors affecting F and B management
- Synthesise the widely embedded nature of management in Food and Beverage business; and
- Evaluate role of food and beverage management in running a successful F and B business.
