She also served as a Training Officer, contributing to gender-sensitization programmes for Delhi Police personnel of Sub-Inspector rank and below and several Girls’ and Women’s colleges in Delhi University. Furthermore, she collaborated with other agencies and organizations, including Salaam Baalak Trust and the Ministry of Women and Child Development. This phase of her career allowed her to work closely with marginalized and highly vulnerable populations and shaped her long-term commitment to trauma-informed, culturally sensitive practice and research.
Research interests:
Her research interests are examining the psychosocial dimensions of violence, trauma, and subjectivity within culturally and institutionally situated contexts. Drawing from her doctoral work on the psychosocial construction of sexual offending in India, she engages with clinical and critical psychology, gender and trauma studies, and psycho-legal approaches to prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation. A key area of interest also includes the psychological implications of armed conflict, particularly collective trauma, community identity formation, moral injury, and the enduring mental health consequences for affected individuals and communities. Her interdisciplinary work further explores culture and meaning, ethnographic approaches, national and youth identity formation and nationalism, gender and psychology, contemporary forms of racism, and the psychological and ethical impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence on subjectivity, relationships, and power. With a strong interest in music, she has also supervised several postgraduate students whose research explores the intersections of music, psychology, and healing.
