Aim: The aim of the course is to discuss issues relating to Public Policy and the Role of Public institutions in shaping the Business and Economic Environment
Course outcomes
- Understand the role and relevance of public policies in the development of any country
- Explore the need of institutional interface in linking of the legislature, executive and judiciary in ensuring equal distribution of resources in any democratic society
- Analyse different challenges in implementation of public policies
- Equip participants with knowledge of constitutional safeguards and regulatory frameworks

- Introduction to Public Policy theories and concepts
- Indian Economic Environment: planning, reform, models of development
- Public Choice and Democratic Politics: Role of Bureaucracy, Impact of LPG policies,
- Social Services in India: Education, Health, Poverty Alleviation, Informal Labour and Marginalities
