Aims and Objectives: The course is designed per AUD vision and NEP 2020, where all research programmes aim to impart interdisciplinary knowledge with exposure to field studies. The course seeks to provide theoretical and practical contours of various areas of knowledge of Indian heritage structures, their forms and materials, Heritage management of the sites in the urban and rural landscapes, and the way forward in the related research area. It has interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary potential and encourages the scholar through a cross-utilization of research ideas.
This course aims to build a foundation across the various facets of Heritage structure and their studies and management. This will help the research scholars to make a critical perspective on multiple components of heritage resources, the theoretical framework for the various facets of heritage management, and find the way forward for research in the area of their choice.

- Understanding the heritage structures, their types and forms and use of materials.
- Analysis of primary sources and literature review in the context of built Heritage of India.
- Creation of a database through field visits and surveys and the use of technology in the context of heritage structures.
- Understanding the environment and impact of climate change on monuments.
