Aim: A complete dissertation work at the end of MA program
Brief description
Dissertation is one of the important and an integral component of MA at the Development Studies in AUD. The idea here is to encourage students to put their learning and analytical reasoning in well drafted manner in the form of dissertation at the end of their two-year MA program. The faculty at the School of Development studies after becoming the dissertation supervisor for student’s dissertation research, lead these budding researcher into a focused scholarship on their respective research questions. The idea is to initiate the students in reflecting on their theoretical learning and at the same to make connections with the wider social and political economy of the subject. One of the important objective of the dissertation writing is to encourage students to develop their critical thinking on matters of scholarly contested subjects, and after thoroughly understanding the available literature on the said subject to come up with their own reasoning and rational for their distinct studied view.
In summation, dissertation is the essence of their two years of learning and acts as a dossier of sorts which demonstrate their learning ability along with the research skills.
