Prof. Sitansu Sekhar Jena is Professor in Vocational Education and also Dean, School of Vocational Studies. He holds MA, M. Phil (Education) and PH.D in Education from Institute of Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore.
Prior to joining AUD, he worked at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for about three decades in different capacities. He also worked as Chairman, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), under the auspices of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, for a period of five years (2009-2014).
He was instrumental in integrating academic and vocational subjects at the school level and helped in developing more than a dozen skill development courses for dropout students as per NSQF levels. He also worked as Dean, School of Distance Learning of the Narsee Munji Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) University, Mumbai.
He has earned significant expertise in the areas of Curriculum Development, Vocational Education, Teacher Education, Continuing Professional Development of university and college teachers, Student Support Services, use of ICT and administrative and leadership qualities.
He has to his credit 04 books and more than 25 publications in reputed national and international journals and has visited about a dozen of countries to disseminate his professional expertise in the field of school and vocational education.
