Aim The objective of this course is to illustrate the journey from imagination of an idea to its execution. A historical and institutional perspective is developed throughout the course to underscore the social underpinning within enterprise.

Course Outcomes:

  1. To discern and develop innovative thinking and the development of ideas to practice
  2. To develop the ability to recognise the value proposition in an idea and make it marketable
  3. To provide an overview of the skills required to successfully develop an entrepreneurial venture
  4. To appreciate the challenge of creating sustainability in a venture
  5. To address social challenges in developing societies and develop sustainable business models
  6. To be able to distinguish between entrepreneurship and business

  2. Unit 2: Historical Perspective to Innovation
  3. Unit 3: Institutional Perspective to Innovation
  4. Unit 4: Disruptive Innovation
  5. Unit 5: Organising for Innovation
  6. Unit 6: Building Business Models

Assessment Details with weights:

  • Case Analysis/Assignments 20% (throughout course)
  • Mid semester 30% (4/5th Week)
  • End semester 30% (8th Week)
  • Project/Group Presentations 20% (throughout course)
